Drinking Water For Raw Food Health
We all know that we should be drinking at least 8 glasses of water each day. The basic material of our living cells is protoplasm. Protoplasm is made up of carbohydrates, fats, salts, protein and other similar properties combined together with…water. Water is a solvent that transports, combines and chemically breaks down these substances into our bodies. Water is the essence of life. But not just any water.
Water is what makes up a large percentage of our bodies. But just as you would not want a blood transfusion with tainted or diseased blood, you shouldn’t settle for water that is contaminated with chemicals and pesticides. Yet that is exactly what we do when we drink water from our taps. The reports and news stories have been around for years concerning findings of pharmaceutical drugs, hormone drugs, pesticides and herbicides in municipal tap water supplies. Many localities are even adding massive amounts of chlorine into the water at the processing station to kill bacterias. Problem is chlorine has been linked to many types of cancers. ( A story just came out over the weekend from the AP about pharmaceutical water contamination .
So what do we do as health conscious individuals to protect our health and water intake? The ideal way would be to purchase some glass water jugs and find a natural spring in the forest. Fill up your jugs and take them home. We have a couple of such springs in northern Virginia. There is also a website at Find A Spring that will help you to locate the nearest FREE spring water supply. Sure you may have to take a couple of hours out of your day, but aren’t you worth that? This is your health we are talking about here. Plus it is taking time to do something for YOU.
Another avenue is to look into point of use water filters. There is a great comparison site at Water Filter Comparisons which gives a breakdown of many brands of water filters and what they remove. I am currently deciding on the Aquasana and Brita. Now these point of use systems hook up straight to your kitchen sink or bathroom sink. I currently have a PUR filter on our kitchen sink, which I am fairly pleased with. The taste is good and you can hold a glass of water up to the light and not see any floaties.
Then there is also the bottled water. Now I am not a big advocate of bottled water. However, if you purchase bottled water purchase spring water. Do a little research on your favorite brand to find out where their aquifier is located. If the water is coming from a spring in the middle of a metropolis, chances are the water quality is not going to be any better than the tap at that metropolis. Research is a good thing for you and your health.
We all need to be more aware of what we are putting into our bodies. Water is as vital to life as good healthy natural raw food. Take some time to go get some free natural spring water, install a filter system in your home or do some research o your favorite brand of bottled water. You are worth the effort. You are incredibly unique and beautiful. Keep putting foods and water in your body that are a s unique and beautiful as you.

Thank you for this reminder. I was thinking the same thing and I decided to by a Brita system.
That is great. I would be interested in how you like your Brita and which one did you choose?
